Introduction
Founded in 1998, the Solar Show Africa has become the largest and most influential power and solar exhibition in South Africa. Along with the expansion of the show’s scale and impact, the show has become an excellent platform for companies to enter the South African market and establish in-depth business relations with local enterprises. In addition to the state-of-the-art PV technology display, it emphasizes the importance of PV energy by holding workshops and exchanging innovative ideas.
With the increasing need for energy, the production of energy has become more important. Being attracted by the industry’s momentum, innovative technology, and potential investment opportunities will undoubtedly help numerous exhibitors emerge in this industry. As an energetic exhibition, this event aims to find solutions between conventional power generation and renewable energy solutions.
Market News
South Africa plans to install 27.6GW of renewable energy equipment by 2030, including about 11GW with wind and 8GW with PV. To implement the target, the country stimulates the market demand by bidding on power prices, according to REIPPP. What’s more, it is noteworthy that the South African government proposed to amend the Electricity Management Act and allow more distributed PV projects. Maloba Tshehla, the spokesman of SAPVIA, said that along with the updated policy, South Africa will usher in the PV Renaissance and promote the recovery of the local economy after the pandemic.
